The Day Before

If you plan on shaving (recommended but not necessary) do it the day before. Shaving is a form of exfoliation and this combined with the removal of hair makes the spray tan look better and last longer.
Make sure to exfoliate the rest of your body. Body brushes, certain scrubs, and by certain I mean ones without oil in them, or body mitts.
Okay, so shower, shave, exfoliate, all must be done the day before. Make sure to NOT put on any lotion after the shower. Skin can stay bare and lotion/oil free.

The Day Of

It’s wise not to wear makeup that day. If you do wear makeup make sure you wash it off before your appointment.
Wear loose clothing. Dark clothing at that. After the spray tan you are not going to want to put back on a bra, leggings, or anything tight. It’s best for the tan and for you (because it’s more comfortable) to wear loose clothes, minimal undergarments, and easy on and off socks and shoes/sandals.
Depending on the time of day you get your spray tan, you can rinse of later that night or wait and rinse off the next day.

After The Session

Don’t touch your body! The solution is on and doing its job. Avoid touching your skin with your hands because it will leave the palm of your hands not very pleasant looking.

Avoid getting sweaty (yay I’m telling you that you can skip the gym for a day) or swimming in pools.
Your initial spray tan should stay on for 6-12 hours. The longer the better. When it does come time to rinse off the tan simply jump in a warm not hot shower and rinse off the solution. No soap or cloth needed. You may even want to skip hair washing. You’ll see the solution being rinsed off and once the water turns clear again you can get out of the shower. Gently pat yourself dry and at this time you may apply a light moisturizer. Nothing too heavy.
For the next few showers you take while you have your spray tan I recommend using your hand to wash instead of a loofah or what have you. No excess scrubbing.
